The Science Behind Activate and Revive Formulations

Timing is everything

We know what we eat matters, but when we eat can be just as important. Over the last several years, intermittent fasting and fasted training have been the “key” to fat burn and lower caloric intake. Plus, it’s just easier. Most of us would prefer another thirty minutes of sleep in the morning to preparing and digesting a breakfast before running out the door.

Women to women, we’re here to ask you to please stop training on an empty stomach.

The evidence behind intermittent fasting and fasted training is great…. for men. Higher testosterone in men preserves muscle and makes them more resilient to cortisol spikes. Women, on the other hand, have fluctuations in their hormones, making them more sensitive to cortisol spikes and energy depletion. Overtime, training fasted impacts your thyroid and hormone production, leading to fatigue, a slower metabolism and fat retention, cold sensitivity, and mood irregularity.

Eating first thing in the morning or sitting down to a meal before exercise wasn’t for us… we’re not willing to sacrifice the convenience or extra sleep. That's why we created Activate. The Activate formulation provides all-day energy and the proper building-blocks to support your exercise or busy day, without the added weight or calories.

And for after? Women should be refueling within 45-minutes of exercise to prevent muscle deterioration and energy dips later in the day. We find that by the time we’re showered and have built up an appetite, more than an hour has gone by. Our Revive formulation helps bridge this gap, providing the proteins your body needs to recover and refuel before your next meal.

Second things second: Our functional ingredients

Whole foods will always be the gold standard. We believe in making wellness achievable, not aspirational. Our products don’t replace meals, they support the moments in between.

Our single-serve, dual-pack powders are designed for performance and practicality. Two formulations. One goal: support your energy, recovery, and long-term health without adding more stress to your routine.

Activate is formulated to help sustain your energy and endurance throughout the day, especially leading up to a workout. It combines nutrients that support blood flow, all-day energy, muscle performance, and hydration:

  • Beet Root: Beet root is rich in natural nitrates that the body converts into nitric oxide. Nitric oxide widens blood vessels, improving circulation and oxygen delivery to working muscles. Better blood flow means you can exercise more efficiently and feel less fatigued. Many athletes use beetroot (or beet juice) to boost endurance and cardiovascular performance. For women, who often have a higher proportion of endurance-oriented muscle fibers, beet root can be an especially useful natural performance enhancer to support stamina during exercise.

  • Essential Amino Acids (EAAs): Essential amino acids are the building blocks of protein that your body cannot produce on its own. Taking EAAs around your workout provides immediate resources for your muscles to repair and build. This is important if you haven’t eaten enough protein beforehand – the EAAs help prevent muscle breakdown and kick-start muscle recovery even before your workout is over. Over time, getting adequate EAAs can support lean muscle tone, strength, and faster recovery between workouts. This is vital for women looking to stay strong and active, because women often require a consistent protein supply to maintain muscle mass (especially as they age).

  • Electrolytes: Electrolytes like sodium, potassium, and magnesium are minerals that keep you hydrated and your muscles firing properly. When you sweat, you lose water and electrolytes, which can lead to muscle cramps, fatigue, or dizziness if they’re not replaced. By replenishing these electrolytes, Activate helps maintain fluid balance and supports healthy muscle contraction. Proper hydration and electrolyte balance mean you can work out longer with less risk of dehydration-related fatigue. In other words, electrolytes help you stay energized and clear-headed during exercise, whether you’re doing endurance sports or a high-intensity workout class.

Revive is formulated to help women recover from workouts and nourish their bodies at any time of day. It’s especially beneficial right after exercise, when your body is primed to absorb nutrients for recovery. Revive’s key ingredients help rebuild muscle, strengthen joints, and restore energy:

  • Collagen Peptides: Collagen is a structural protein that makes up a large part of our connective tissues – think joints, tendons, ligaments, and even skin. As we age, natural collagen production declines, which can lead to stiffer joints and less elastic skin. Supplementing with collagen peptides provides the specific amino acids (like glycine and proline) that your body uses to repair and build these tissues. For active women, this means collagen can support joint health and resilience, helping your knees, ankles, and other joints handle the impact of exercise with less discomfort. Additionally, collagen may benefit bone density and skin elasticity. In short, it’s a valuable nutrient not just for workout recovery (keeping your joints and ligaments strong) but also for overall healthy aging.

  • Creatine: Creatine is one of the most researched supplements in sports nutrition, not only celebrated for boosting muscle energy but increasingly recognized for supporting cognitive health, mental clarity, and focus. Emerging evidence suggests that creatine supplementation can enhance brain function, making it valuable for women aiming to optimize mental performance alongside physical fitness. Creatine works by increasing your muscles’ stores of phosphocreatine, essential for rapidly producing energy (ATP) during high-intensity efforts. In practical terms, it helps you push harder—whether lifting heavier weights, sprinting faster, or powering through the final set of your workout. For women, creatine supplementation can enhance strength and performance without causing the bulky side effects many fear; instead, it promotes lean muscle and supports quicker recovery. Because women naturally tend to have lower creatine stores—primarily derived from dietary meat consumption, which is typically lower in women—adding creatine ensures your muscles have an optimal energy reserve. The result? Improved mental clarity, better workout performance, increased muscle gains, and even potential benefits for bone strength, making creatine an ideal supplement for women focused on overall longevity and vitality.
